Mahindra Scorpio is the product of Mahindar & Mahindra Limited and is the flagship model. The Scorpio comes under SUV segment and is the company's very first SUV model manufactured for global market. Scorpio was launched in 2002, successful in Indian and some International markets. The organization is planning to launch this car in U.S market in near future. Currently, Scorpio comes with lot of modifications and the latest version being more comfortable, attractive very much ideal for Indian roads. It assures to give deliberate performance both on-road and off-road, is available in colors like toreador red, mystique purple, java brown, rocky beige, diamond white, turf green, apple red, mist silver and fiery black. Mahindra Scorpio is a two wheel and four wheel drive that comes with five and six-speed gear boxes. However, six-speed transmission is available only in the top-end variant. The variants are available both in petrol and diesel versions with manual and as well as automatic gear boxes. The cost ranges from 7.25 lacs to 12.25 lacs rupees.
Mahindra Scorpio Engine and specifications
Scorpio is equipped with 4-cylinder, mHawk. 2.2 Liter engine that has the capacity to produce 120 bhp maximum power and can reach 60 kmph speed in just 5.7 seconds. The mHawk technology in the engine is most innovative technology in Indian auto industry that gives higher fuel efficiency and lower emissions. The Bosch common rail diesel technology helps to give incredible mileage with green environment. Mahindra Scorpio is equipped with top mounted intercooler that assures to keep the car cooler most of the times. It has two chain drive system to reduce the vibration and noise even at high speed.
One can avail either seven seater or an eight seater. The exterior dimensions measure around 4430 mm in length, 1817 mm in width, 1975 mm in height and wheelbase of 2680 mm respectively.

Scorpio gives wonderful performance since it is equipped with lot of innovative and advanced technologies, one of the best SUV's in performance. The mHawk technology gives lower emissions and the higher fuel consumption. The micro-hybrid technology makes sure to switch off the car smartly when it is in idle mode. As a result it decreases the emission and reduces the pollution. The engine automatically starts running once the driver touches the clutch pedal.
The manual transmission variants deliver a mileage of 10.5 kmpl within city and 15.5 in highways and the automatic transmission variants give the mileage of 9.6 kmpl within cities and 13 kmpl in highways.
Mahindra Scorpio Exterior, Interior and Safety
Scorpio has muscular and eye-catchy exterior. When speaking of the exteriors, the design stands out on top among its segment. The recently launched model has some changes in front and rear side, the front grille is smooth and shiny as compared to older versions. The tail lamps are clustered, that starts from bumper to roof. On the whole it gives an appearance of a sporty SUV.
Mahindra Scorpio interior is coated with dual tone. The whole interior has ample of space and it has enough places for headroom, legroom and luggage. There are separate armrests and adjustable head rests for long distance driving. Apart from that interior is equipped with AC vents at its rear, mobile charging facility, sliding middle row seat and power windows.
Mahindra Scorpio is filled with lots of advanced safety systems that include intrusion beams, collapsible steering columns, crumple zone that protects crashes, blue vision headlamps, ABS, dual airbags, tubeless tyres, side impact beams, child lock and more.
